Santa Clarita's war veterans have orchestrated a touching tribute to those who have died in war, a service that will be held Monday at Eternal Valley Memorial Park.

The 10 a.m. ceremony, coordinated each year by the Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. The valley was part of the 48,612-acre (19,672.  Veterans Memorial Committee, will feature a flyover by the Condor Squadron in World War II vintage aircraft.

As part of the ceremony, Bob Kellar, voted Santa Clarita's 1998 Man of the Year largely because of his involvement with the veterans, and R.J. Kelly, a Vietnam vet, will read the names of the 400 veterans inscribed in·scribe

Kelly, who earned three Purple Hearts Purple Hearts can refer to the following:

 during his time in the Marine Corps in Vietnam, feels strongly about honoring those who gave their lives in the war.

``I was given rank and honor because I was the only one left,'' Kelly said. ``We went in with 375 men and came back with six - somebody had to take over.''

The Memorial Committee was formed to ensure a tribute each year to fallen soldiers and to inspire patriotism in the community.

Monday's tribute will include music by the Santa Clarita Valley Concert Band, an essay by Canyon High School Canyon High School can refer to:

 inspired by the Veterans Memorial Wall at Eternal Valley, the presentation of the colors by the Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps The Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) is a program sponsored by the United States Armed Forces in high schools across the United States. The program was originally created as part of the National Defense Act of 1916 and later expanded under the 1964 ROTC  and a rifle salute and honor guard by the Veterans Burial Squad.

The Memorial Day tribute was established in 1988 and the marble Memorial Wall was completed in 1992. It stands in the newly developed Veterans Garden.
