HONEY HILL FARMS ANNOUNCES VOLUNTARY RECALL OF FROZEN YOGURT

HONEY HILL FARMS ANNOUNCES VOLUNTARY RECALL OF FROZEN YOGURT
SACRAMENTO, Feb. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Honey Hill Farms, an active leader in the development of federal and state standards protecting the integrity and quality of frozen yogurt products, announced its voluntary recall of various code dates of its soft-serve frozen yogurt mixes. The affected soft-serve frozen yogurt mixes are itemized on the attached list. None of Honey Hill Farms' widely distributed and recognized pint-sized packaged frozen yogurt sold in most major supermarkets is affected by this decision.
Late yesterday, Honey Hill Farms discovered that a component in the pasteurizing unit at its Sacramento plant malfunctioned and as a result soft-serve yogurt was produced which did not meet state or federal regulatory requirements.
This situation was discovered quickly and only a small amount of soft-serve frozen yogurt product was actually shipped to its distributors. Honey Hill Farms has notified all of its distributors of the situation and accounted for all of the soft-serve mix in question.
Honey Hill Farms has always prided itself in producing only the finest quality frozen yogurt products. Said company vice president, John T. Murphy: "Rather than jeopardize our own reputation and have product which does not meet our own standards for quality and performance, we have chosen the only method we know of to ensure continued customer satisfaction and confidence in our products and brand name."
