Boys: Lerato Simelane, Harvard-Westlake soccer

What he did: The sophomore striker scored his third goal in four games in the Wolverines' 2-1 victory over Chaminade on Friday in a Mission League matchup.

Only this time, Chaminade was the Daily News No. 1-ranked team and Harvard-Westlake had a losing record. The Wolverines are 7-0-1 in their past eight matches against Chaminade. The rematch is Feb. 6 at Chaminade.

Girls prep basketball: Jamie Sturdivant, Simi Valley's leading scorer, is a niece of University of Pacific men's basketball coach Bob Thomason. . . .
