HOMEGROWN WORKS WELCOME AT SHOW.Byline: Daily News VALENCIA -- With the thought that a rose in any location would still smell as sweet, the SCV SCV Santa Clarita Valley (California) SCV Sons of Confederate Veterans SCV Santa Clara Vanguard SCV Singapore Cable Vision SCV Special Category Visa (Australia) SCV StarHub Cable Vision Rose Society has changed venues for this year's Rose Show. The 13th annual event is free and will be held Oct.14 in the boardroom at the Castaic Union School District office, 28131 Livingston Ave., Valencia. This year's theme is ``Rainbow of Roses,'' and residents are welcome to exhibit their homegrown home·grown adj. 1. Raised or grown at home. 2. Originating in or characteristic of a locality: "Rock is homegrown music in the United States, evolved from blues and country and Tin Pan Alley" roses. Those wishing to exhibit should bring their roses in a bucket of water, and the Rose Society will furnish the vases and the entry tags. There will be 68 prizes of Mikasa crystal giftware and more than 500 ribbons awarded to many types of roses. Rose entries will be received from 7 to 9:45a.m. that day in the rear parking lot at the district office. The Rose Show will open to the public at 12:30p.m., at which time the winning roses will be on display. All trophy winners will be presented with their awards at 2p.m., and the show will close at 5p.m. Long-stemmed roses will be given out while supplies last. A free bouquet of roses will be given to new members who join the society at the show. Annual membership dues are $15, which includes 10 issues of the 12-page newsletter ``Rose Ecstasy ecstasy, either of two drugs used for their euphoric effects.
