HOME THEATER PRODUCTS, INC. ENGAGES FIRMS FOR INVESTMENT BANKING AND INVESTOR RELATIONS

 BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Home Theater Products, Inc. (NASDAQ: HTPI) has retained Gruntal Capital Markets to serve as its exclusive investment banker and financial advisor.
 Home Theater Products, Inc. is engaged in the manufacture and distribution of audio and video components for the home entertainment industry, including home theater products sold pursuant to a license from Paramount Pictures Corporation.
 The worldwide use of certain Paramount trademarks is governed by a ten-year royalty-based licensed agreement which began Aug. 1, 1990.
 Stanley Hollander, managing director of Gruntal Capital Markets, the corporate finance arm of Gruntal & Co. Inc., said the firm will be "looking at a lot of alternatives to maximize shareholder value at Home Theater Products, Inc."
 Home Theater Products, Inc. said that Gruntal provides it with financial services and access to the capital markets for emerging mid- sized companies.
 Home Theater Products, Inc. has also contracted with Corporate Relations Group, Inc. of Winter Park, Fla., for investor relations services. Under the agreement, Corporate Relations Group will develop and implement a marketing plan designed to introduce Home Theater Products, Inc. to investors. The campaign, targeted to more than 300,000 investors, will be comprised primarily of direct mail and advertisements in the financial press.
