HOME SAVINGS OF AMERICA ANNOUNCES DISASTER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR CUSTOMERS IMPACTED BY LOS ANGELES FIRES

 Company Also Makes Donation to Red Cross for Victims of Fires
 IRWINDALE, Calif., Oct. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Home Savings of America, the nation's largest savings institution, today announced that it has activated its disaster assistance program for loan customers who have been impacted by the fires in Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, Riverside and San Diego counties.
 The company's Loan Service Center in Irwindale has a special service unit with employees specifically trained to deal with disaster victims. These employees are trained to respond to questions from customers on their loans and insurance and also provide them with an information packet on the appropriate disaster relief agencies, such as the FEMA Disaster Assistance Program and the Red Cross Assistance Program. In addition, these specialists deal with borrowers on a case by case basis with their loan, if needed, to help them recover from the disaster.
 Home Savings' loan customers who have questions about their home loan or their insurance should call 800-874-9718.
 Home Savings also announced that it is making donations totaling $100,000 to American Red Cross chapters in the five counties for assistance to victims of the fires.
 All of Home Savings branches, including those in the areas impacted by the fires, are open for business as usual. Through November, the company said it will waive the early withdrawal penalty for savings customers who need to withdraw funds from their term accounts because of the fires. The company will also consider extending lines of credit and overdraft privilege for Home Savings' credit card customers who are impacted by the fires.
