Work has begun on a 165-home development in the master-planned community of Rancho ran·cho

Vista, the first home building activity there in about four years, officials said Monday.

Orange-based Beazer Homes has started grading work on the project at Rancho Vista Boulevard and Homeridge Drive.

``We feel that there is a steady market there. Hopefully with increased sales prices below, the housing market will again move up to the High Desert, and we want to be ready for it,'' said project manager Paul Hughes Paul Hughes (born 19 April 1976 in Hammersmith) is a retired English footballer who played in midfield.

Hughes began his career with his local side, Chelsea, and started well, scoring on his debut again Derby County with an impressive solo effort.

Beazer is one of about eight developers now starting work on new tracts or building out old ones in Palmdale, about twice the activity compared to last year.

``I think the increase in activity is because the cost of loans are down, and the area has been waiting to move forward with the rest of Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  County,'' said Shane Walter, director of building and safety. ``The cost in the (San Fernando San Fernando, city, Argentina

The Beazer project will include three- and four-bedroom homes ranging in size from nearly 1,800 square feet to 2,500 square feet, Hughes said.

Model homes will be completed and the sales office will open sometime around late December or early January.

Over the years, Beazer has completed five housing projects in the area, all on the west side of the Antelope Valley This article is about the Los Angeles County region. For the census-designated place in Wyoming, see Antelope Valley-Crestview, Wyoming.
