HOLLYOAKS' CHLOE'S NOT READY TO SLIM YET; GO FOR IT.

HOLLYOAKS fans have seen student Chloe battling to come to terms with weighty problems for the past few weeks.

The redhead not only dumped her boyfriend Matt, but lost all her confidence as she struggled to cope with jibes from strangers and her own self-image.

Now, though, she's realised that if she's going to lose weight it has to be on her own terms, not because she feels pressurised by others and the old optimistic Chloe is back.

Actress Mikyla Dodd, who plays Chloe, says the storyline was more about how her character felt rather than what she weighed.

"I think for a long time, like a lot of big people do, she became so used to her weight that she forgot just how big she was, " explains Mikyla. "You're obviously aware that you're overweight but you don't notice when you start to gain weight that there's a difference between being big ? and really big." Chloe becoming reconciled to her size mirrors Mikyla's own attitude.

"When you're big, everyone has a reaction to it even when they try not to.

"But it's never been a problem for me. I know that everything I've got in my life is good, and if I want to lose weight I'll do it when I want to, not for anyone else."
