Here are some holiday viewing highlights for today, from festive singing in the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion is one of the halls in the Los Angeles Music Center (which is one of the three largest performing arts centers in the United States). The Music Center's other halls include the Mark Taper Forum, Ahmanson Theatre, and Walt Disney Concert Hall.  to Ray Charles celebrating a gospel Christmas.

TODAY

``L.A. County Holiday Program'' (3 p.m., KCET) The annual community music and dance festival is televised live with Henry Winkler hosting at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.

``Hollywood Spectacular'' (5 p.m., WGN) A repeat of the Hollywood Christmas parade The Hollywood Christmas Parade took place every year for 75 years on the weekend after Thanksgiving in the Hollywood community in Los Angeles, California, United States. The parade's 3.  originally seen Nov. 28.

``Alan Jackson: Let It Be Christmas'' (4, 7 and 11 p.m. Saturday, CMT) A family-filled special with standards and the title tune from the country star's holiday album, ``Let It Be Christmas.''

``The Christmas Tree Ship: A Holiday Storm Story'' (8 p.m., Weather Channel) A departure from the network's usual fare of forecasts and hurricane tracking, this documentary tells the story of a Great Lakes schooner that each year gathered thousands of spruce trees from Michigan's Upper Peninsula and then returned to Chicago to sell them. Of course, it wouldn't be a Weather Channel show without some natural mayhem.

``A Christmas Story'' (8 p.m., TBS) The 1983 nostalgia fest about a boy's quest for a Red Ryder BB gun begins its 24-hour loop on Christmas Eve. We're lucky because we can watch just parts of it. But maybe the broadcast engineers at TBS who endure multiple viewings should get hardship pay.

``A Christmas Carol'' (8 p.m., NBC, Channel 4) A replay of this season's musical adaptation of Dickens' classic tale, starring Kelsey Grammer as Scrooge, Jason Alexander as Jacob Marley and Jesse L. Martin, Jane Krakowski and Geraldine Chaplin as the ghosts.

``White Night Before Christmas'' (8 p.m., Fine Living) A tranquil - if elitist - alternative to the noisier TV fare, with snowy scenes from exclusive ski resorts, a small New England town The New England town is the basic unit of local government in each of the six New England states. An institution that does not have a direct counterpart in most other U.S. states, New England towns are conceptually similar to civil townships in that they were originally set up so  and a major city.

``Ray Charles Celebrates a Gospel Christmas'' (9 p.m., Gospel Music Channel Gospel Music Channel is a television channel that features all styles of Christian music, from country to metal to hip-hop. As the first Christian music video channel, it has inspired others like TVU Music Television and Spirit Music Television. ) The special, shot in 2003, makes its debut with standards done Ray's way, including ``The Christmas Song,'' ``Hark! The Herald Angels Sing Hark! the Herald Angels Sing

``Roman Catholic Midnight Mass'' (10 p.m., WGN) The 90-minute Mass from Chicago's Holy Name Cathedral Holy Name Cathedral or the Cathedral of the Holy Name are the names of several cathedrals.

``Christmas Eve Worship Service'' (11:35 p.m., CBS, Channel 2) Broadcast from the Church of the Brethren Church of the Brethren: see Brethren.  at Bethany Theological Seminary in Richmond, Ind.

``Christmas Eve at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome'' (11:35 p.m., NBC, Channel 4) Pope John Paul II Pope John Paul II (Latin: Ioannes Paulus PP. II, Italian: Giovanni Paolo II, Polish: Jan Paweł II) born Karol Józef Wojtyła   celebrates midnight Mass.
