HOLIDAY INN WORLDWIDE CREATES NEW AMERICAS DIVISION

 ATLANTA, March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Bryan D. Langton, chairman and chief executive officer of Holiday Inn Worldwide, announced today the merger of its Franchised Hotels and Company Managed Hotels Division in the Americas.
 Michael A. Leven, reporting directly to Langton, becomes president of the new division. He will have responsibility for all franchised and company-managed hotels in North, Central and South America and the Caribbean.
 S. Kirk Kinsell, currently vice president - franchise sales, is promoted to senior vice president - franchise, with day-to-day operational responsibility for the franchise division. Steve C. Jacobs, currently vice president - worldwide reservations and guest relations, is promoted to senior vice president - Americas Services, and adds responsibility for Americas accounting and finance, human resources and purchasing. Both Kinsell and Jacobs will report to Leven.
 Craig H. Hunt, senior vice president and chief operating officer, Company Managed Hotels, remains on the Holiday Inn Worldwide board of directors and continues to have responsibility for company-managed hotel operations, reporting to Leven.
 Dick Smith, board member and senior vice president - Information Technology, will now report directly to Langton.
 Holiday Inn Worldwide, which is owned by Bass PLC of the U.K., is the world's leading hotel chain with nearly 1,700 hotels and 330,000 guest rooms in 55 countries and territories around the world.
