HOLIDAY FESTIVITIES AT KAHALA HILTON ATTRACT FAMILIES FROM
AROUND THE COUNTRY; CHRISTMAS IN HAWAII -- A UNIQUE ADVENTURE
HONOLULU, Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- One of the most familiar holiday images held by billions around the world is Santa Claus' arrival by sleigh. On the Hawaiian island of Oahu, however, Santa will arrive at the Kahala Hilton via canoe at 11 a.m. on Christmas Eve Day. The fair-weather St. Nick will pull up on the Kahala Hilton's exclusive secluded beachfront to greet locals and visitors. In keeping with the hotel's tradition, Santa will hand out treats at the public gathering to share the holiday spirit.
Santa will be the star attraction at a private party held for the hotel's guests and their children. They will be entertained by the keiki (children) hula troupe Halau Hula Hui O Kapunahala which will perform Hawaiian Christmas songs and dance the hula.
In celebration of world peace and unity, the focal point of the hotel's lobby will be a 25-foot Christmas tree filled with dolls representing countries from around the globe.
During the two weeks prior to Christmas and New Year's Eve, the resort features a number of performing choral groups and holiday buffet luncheons. On Thursday, Dec. 17, a fashion show will highlight holiday styles from the designer shops and boutiques in Honolulu.
On Christmas Eve, the hotel offers several festive dining options which include the celebrated Danny Kaleikini Christmas Eve Dinner Show in the Hala Terrace, a special buffet dinner at the Maile Terrace and a holiday Table d'hote menu in the Maile Restaurant. There will be Christmas Day buffet brunches served at the Waialae Room, Maile Terrace and the Hala Terrace, with Christmas Dinners at the Maile Restaurant and Plumeria Cafe.
On New Year's Eve, Danny Kaleikini presents a special dinner show; the Maile Restaurant offers a New Year's Eve Gala Dinner Dance with continuous music by Kit Samson's Sound Advice and Fascinatin' Rhythm.
In addition to award-winning dining and the largest guest rooms in Honolulu, the hotel offers salt-water swimming, an array of water sports, fully equipped exercise facilities and access to six tennis courts at the nearby Maunalua Bay Club.
Reservations can be made through any travel agent or by calling the Kahala Hilton toll-free at 800-367-2525 in the United States, or direct at 808-734-2211. All rates quoted are exclusive of tax.
