The College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. A new, 16 member jazz choir will join the college's three existing choral groups - Les Chanteuses (a women's choir), Chamber Singers and Voices of the Canyons (a festival choir) - for a fast-paced evening of music in a variety of styles, with something for everyone's musical taste. Lawson brings her fascination with world music to the concert as she includes music from Cuba, Haiti, Israel, Spain, Italy and France in her program. As a special feature of the evening, Les Chanteuses will premiere a song from a new musical about the life of Joan of Arc Joan of Arc, Fr. Jeanne D'Arc (zhän därk), 1412?–31, French saint and national heroine, called the Maid of Orléans; daughter of a farmer of Domrémy on the border of Champagne and Lorraine. , which is currently being composed by College of the Canyons student Steven Ladd Jones.
