HOLBY SIZZLER 120; Stars get steamy in African special.
HOLBY City star Patricia Potter sweated buckets for her art filming in 120 degree heat in Africa... and she wants you to know it.
Patricia - who plays surgeon Diane Davis - spent a month in Ghana shooting a special episode for the BBC's Africa Lives season.
Things get very hot and steamy as newlywed Diane flies out to Ghana to persuade her old lover Ric Griffin, played by Hugh Quarshie, to return to Holby.
Viewers will learn this week if their romance is rekindled in Africa.
The blazing sunshine ensured filming was a sticky, sweaty experience but, thanks to the magic of TV, Patricia manages to look cool and collected.
She said: 'I thought we would look all red and sweaty but the crew put in such a big effort - the make-up guys were constantly powdering and spraying us so it doesn't look nearly as hot on screen.
'It looks like it could have been quite temperate which is a little disappointing after so much suffering and pain. It was like stepping into an oven.'
The Ghana special also sees former Young One Adrian Edmondson in a guest role
