HOK launches Studio E; designers and producers to the global entertainment industry.


LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 3, 1995--HOK (Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum, Inc.), the largest architecture firm in the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. , announces the formation of Studio E, a new and specialized thematic design and production studio to service the entertainment industry.

Studio E combines imaginative and innovative thematic design with knowledge-based content and dependable delivery to produce unique entertainment environments and events.

With the launching of Studio E, HOK merges the talents of some of the industry's most creative and experienced thematic designers with HOK's ability to produce complex facilities. This collaborative design and production studio will be based in Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  and Orlando. In concert with the HOK 20-office global network and other partners, Studio E will deliver entertainment and thematic design services to new and existing clients in North and South America South America, fourth largest continent (1991 est. pop. 299,150,000), c.6,880,000 sq mi (17,819,000 sq km), the southern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere. , Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

STUDIO E DIRECTORS

The design directors of HOK Studio E are Gerry Dunn, Chris Miles Chris Miles is a fictional character in the television series Skins portrayed by Joe Dempsie. Characterisation
Chris's character is initially portrayed as being very into pills and as being something of a party animal, but at the same time has other layers to
 and Chip Reay. Dunn comes to Studio E from WATG WATG Wimberly Allison Tong Goo (Singapore)  where he was Director of Entertainment Design. Previously he was a design director at Walt Disney Noun 1. Walt Disney - United States film maker who pioneered animated cartoons and created such characters as Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck; founded Disneyland (1901-1966)

 Imagineering. Miles, with over 30 years of entertainment experience, was most recently Director of Theme Park Design with Landmark Entertainment and has held similar leadership positions at HHCP and CT Hsu. Reay has over 30 years of design leadership at HOK.

The marketing and managing directors of Studio E are Michael Fejes, Pete Karamitsanis, and Jeffrey Blydenburgh. Says Miles: "We are excited about the prospects for Studio E. We combine an intellectual approach with a playful attitude towards our projects."

The vision of HOK Studio E is to become the leading conceptual and thematic designers and idea producers for the entertainment, leisure and cultural communities within the next five years. As Blydenburgh, the major accounts director, states, "It is our goal to set a new standard in the ever-expanding global market. We will get there by being story driven, client-focused, and delivering projects sooner than our competitors."

Studio E's market segments are driven by entertainment, family entertainment centers and casinos. Studio E is currently involved in concept studies for casino entertainment complexes on the East Coast and in Las Vegas, corporate exhibition projects, and being considered for several major theme park projects.

HOK's experience in entertainment related projects includes the Florida Aquarium in Tampa, and the Long Beach (California) Aquarium of the Pacific The Aquarium of the Pacific is located in the city of Long Beach, California at the mouth of the Los Angeles River. The aquarium features a collection of over 12,500 animals representing almost 1,000 different species. ; in New Jersey, master plans for the Meadowland mead·ow·land
