HOK's Lam receives annual Humanitarian award.

Juliette Lam, director of interiors for the New York office of Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum, Inc. (HOK), was recently honored with the Capuchin Food Pantries Humanitarian Award during its Fifth Annual Women of Valor Tea Charity Event on Aug. 7.

The event honors women in the real estate industry who have significantly contributed to the greater New York community.

The Humanitarian Award, one of the organization's highest honors, is presented annually to a person who has consistently worked for the welfare of others and for social reform in the community.

Ms. Lam is a member of HOK's three-person Management Committee for the firm's New York office. She works with corporate clients to develop innovative strategies for the workplace, as well as key interior design projects in the New York tri-state region.

Ms. Lam also heads HOK's international Interiors Focus Group, which includes the firm's 24 offices worldwide. Her tenacious personality has helped her develop innovative interior design strategies for clients including Time Inc., Deloitte & Touche, Ann Taylor Inc., Viacom, John Wiley & Sons Publishing, DLA Piper, The Conference Board, and Grey Advertising. In addition, she led the design effort for the new Kuwait National Assembly building following the first Iraq war.
