HOEFT TO DIRECT PAPERS' WEB SITES.

WOODLAND HILLS - John Hoeft has been named vice president, interactive media, for the Los Angeles Newspaper Group The Los Angeles Newspaper Group is an umbrella group of local daily newspapers published in the greater Los Angeles area by MediaNews Group. The news coverage of the newspapers are mainly local stories. , effective immediately. The appointment was announced by LANG Senior Vice President of Advertising and Marketing Tracy Rafter.

Hoeft will oversee revenue, product development and content publishing for each of the eight LANG Web sites including dailynews.com, sgvtribune.com, presstelegram.com, pasadenastarnews.com, whittierdailynews.com, sbsun.com, dailybulletin.com and redlandsdailyfacts.com, as well as the group's business-to-business Web site, langnews.com.

``This promotion recognizes John's valuable contribution to our interactive growth and strength throughout Media News Group,'' said Rafter. ``I am confident his online expertise, strategic planning Strategic planning is an organization's process of defining its strategy, or direction, and making decisions on allocating its resources to pursue this strategy, including its capital and people.  and staff development abilities will help bring us to the next level of expansion in a rapidly growing Internet market.''

Hoeft will relocate from Denver, where he has been the business development manager for MediaNews Group Not to be confused with Media General, an unrelated newspaper and TV group.
MediaNews Group, based in Denver, Colorado, is one of the largest newspaper companies in the United States.
