HMZ Metals Begins Hechi Copper Smelter Expansion.

The copper smelter expansion is a two-phase program. Phase One, with an estimated cost of US$900,000 (RMB RMB Right Mouse Button

 7.3 million) consists of the construction of an oxygen plant and the addition of a second blast furnace blast furnace, structure used chiefly in smelting. The principle involved in this means of extracting metals is that of the reduction of the ores by the action of carbon monoxide, i.e., the removal of oxygen from the metal oxide in order to obtain the metal.  which together are expected to double capacity by enabling the smelter to operate continuously. Completion of Phase One is expected in October, 2005.

Phase Two consists of the construction of a new sulphuric acid plant that will exceed current emission standards. With a projected cost of US$2.8 million (RMB 22.7 million) construction will begin following the implementation of Phase One. Completion of Phase Two is expected in June, 2006. No downtime is expected during either Phase One or Phase Two.

We are committed to developing many other projects in Hechi through the use of advanced technologies for the exploration, mining and milling of mineral resources. With the support of the Hechi government, the development of these new projects will be profitable for the economy of Hechi and will create well paid new jobs for Hechi citizens."
