HISTORY WINNERS STUDENTS SHINE IN LOUISIANA PURCHASE PROJECT.

The Alliklik chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), a Colonial patriotic society in the United States, open to women having one or more ancestors who aided the cause of the Revolution. The society was organized (1890) at Washington, D.C.  honored the winners of its 2003-04 American history essay contest and Junior American Citizen contest during a ceremony held Feb. 19.

 Junior High. Zoe's essay has been sent on to DAR District judges, with the possibility of progressing on to the state and national judging.

The 2003-04 theme for the Junior American Citizen contest was ``America - One Nation, Many Peoples.''

First-place art poster contest winners were Crystal Bryne, fifth-grade student of Pam Jacobson at Agua Dulce Agua Dulce is Spanish for "sweet water". It also refers to various locations:

First-place winners in the art banner - group contest were the following fifth-grade students of Pam Jacobson at Agua Dulce Elementary School: Cody Barnes, John Flath, Johnny Jimenez, James Johnson James Johnson may refer to:

Artists, authors, and musicians

  • James B. Johnson, author of Science Fiction novels
  • James Johnson (musician), minimalist electronic musician
  • James Johnson (musicologist), late 18th-century Scottish musicologist
 and Ryan White.

Kindergarten winners were the following students of Sarah Powell at Rio Vista Elementary School: Rudy Alvarez, Connor Ash, Alex Brown, David Carbajal, Ashley Curtis, Kyle Furie, Chari Gardea, Abigail Gonzalez, Valerie Goymerac, Briana Hernandez, Isabella Hinojoza, Logan Ingraham, Jarrett Jellison, Alana Lynn, Dalila Mancilla, Adolfo Martinez, Pauline Ordonez, Esteban Rosillo, Shane Tamura and Emma Thompson.

Their artwork has been sent to compete at the state level, with the possibility of progressing on to the Southwest Division and national levels.
