Daley scored 39 points Thursday to lead Rolling Hills Prep to a 79-70 victory over Hillcrest Christian in the Div. V-AA championship game at Loyola Marymount. But with Daley - who successfully took over most of the scoring and leadership responsibilities left behind by Allen and Wright - on top of his game, Hillcrest Christian (21-8) could not keep up. Daley scored two points in last year's final and was determined to improve on that. ``Besides myself and (Tristen Smith) nobody else had the experience of playing in this type of game,'' Daley said. ``So my plan was to come out and set an emotional tone by playing as hard as I could from the opening tip. I felt if we came out slow we'd be in for a long night, so I wanted to be aggressive from the outset.'' Rigney was impressed im·press 1 tr.v. im·pressed, im·press·ing, im·press·es 1. But he did a great job.'' Things started off promising enough for Hillcrest Christian. Rigney and Haliday each had six points in the first quarter to help the Eagles stay within 20-18. But things fell off dramatically from that point. Rigney finished the first half shooting 3 of 13, setting the tone for a team-wide shooting slump. The Eagles shot just 13 of 41 in the first half compared to 15 of 32 for Rolling Hills Prep. That led to a 39-29 Huskies lead at intermission and the beginning stages of a rout. The lead grew to 50-32 four minutes into the third quarter, as the Huskies (19-6) continued to hurt the Eagles with their superior quickness and athletic ability.
