SANTA CLARITA Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987.  fee study to determine the cost of providing the dozens of services offered throughout the year, said Elena Galvez, management analyst for Santa Clarita.

The study is conducted every five years and is separate from the annual city budget adjustments. The yearly fee increases coincide with the Consumer Price Index.

The city is proposing raising summer day camp fees, for example, from $136 to $140 a week or by 3 percent.

Youth sports, meanwhile, would be raised from $75 per participant to $86 or a 15 percent increase.

No programs are proposed to be dropped, Galvez said.

The public meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. May 26 at City Hall, 23920 Valencia Blvd., Santa Clarita.

The issue will be presented to the City Council on June 22.
