Italia, officially Italian Republic, republic (2005 est. pop. 58,103,000), 116,303 sq mi (301,225 sq km), S Europe. for the past week celebrating his and his wife's January birthdays. If you're like me, this fact is very envy-inspiring. Jason spent the week in Rome, Florence and Venice and he'll probably write about it next week. Hopefully we'll even get some great travel photos to look at. While he's been gone, I've had the pleasure of going over stories, events and blogs posted to all the Burbank and Glendale area hubs on valleynews.com and putting together this print edition. What a pleasure! Those of you taking part in citizen journalism News and commentary from the public at large. Using wiki sites and blogs, anyone can contribute information about a current event. Also known as "collaborative citizen journalism" (CCJ), "grassroots media" and "personal publishing," the concept behind citizen journalism is that many are doing a terrific job. Take, for example, our cover photo and the related story on page 12. First-time poster Michelle Sirota wrote a wonderful story about Mountain Avenue School in La Crescenta putting on a production of The Little Mermaid little mermaid the sacrifices her own life to save her beloved prince. The sense, ability, or power of hearing. , describing the kids' nerves and sharing the funny things kids say. This story is a great illustration of why I love citizen journalism. Michelle takes an everyday moment that isn't likely to make it into the newspaper and makes it truly special and fun to read. Plus, I bet these kids' families are going to love clipping (1) Cutting off the outer edges or boundaries of a word, signal or image. In rendering an image, clipping removes any objects or portions thereof that are not visible on screen. See scissoring. See also WCA. this story out and putting it up on the fridge. I remember when I landed in the local paper in high school. It was a big deal. Every kid deserves to feel special for what they accomplish and contribute. A story in the paper can do just that.
