 Band of the Golden West will perform a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Vital Express Center for the Performing Arts at College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation. .

Tickets will be passed out beginning at 6:45 p.m. at the theater on a first-come, first-served “FCFS” redirects here. For the figure skating competition, see Four Continents Figure Skating Championships.

The Concert Band, the largest performing unit within the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West, is comprised of 45 musicians. It is stationed at Travis Air Force Base Travis Air Force Base (IATA: SUU, ICAO: KSUU) is a United States Air Force air base in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. Travis Air Force Base is located within Fairfield, Calif, in the northeast part of town.  but has reached millions of listeners and received critical acclaim as one of America's premier musical organizations.

Television and radio broadcasts of the band's recordings have extended the visibility of the Band of the Golden West to national and international levels.

The band is responsible for the western touring region of California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. It performs for music conventions and plays just about any variety of music.

Its instrumentation includes woodwinds, brasses, percussion percussion /per·cus·sion/ (per-kush´un) the act of striking a part with short, sharp blows as an aid in diagnosing the condition of the underlying parts by the sound obtained. , electric piano An electric piano (e-piano) is an electric musical instrument whose popularity started in the late 1960s, was at its greatest during the 1970s and still is big today. Many models were designed for home or school use or to replace a (heavy) and un-amplified piano on stage, while , electric/string bass and vocalists. The band's repertoire includes standard concert band/wind ensemble literature, orchestral transcriptions, military marches, jazz and pop arrangements, Broadway excerpts and, of course, patriotic songs.

The varied programs offer something for everyone and are an excellent choice for family entertainment.
