Carson High brought an end to one of the most dominant runs in City Section girls' tennis history Wednesday at the Balboa Sports Complex in Encino, defeating three-time defending champion defending champion n (SPORT) → defensor/a m/f del título

The second-seeded Colts (15-0) advanced to the City final for the first time since 2002 and will face top-seeded Palisades Palisades, cliffs along the west bank of the Hudson River, NE N.J. and SE N.Y., extending from N of Jersey City, N.J., to the vicinity of Piermont, N.Y., with a general altitude of from 350 ft to 550 ft (107–168 m).  of Pacific Palisades (14-0), a 6-1 semifinal winner over Bell. The loss snapped third-seeded Granada Hills' run of seven consecutive appearances in the championship match.

The Highlanders (12-2), who had won 50 consecutive matches against City opponents since a 4-3 setback to Carson in the 2001 final, received straight-set victories from Roxanne Plata and Jennifer To at Nos. 1 and 2 singles. Becky Friedman and Kelly Paris closed out the match for Granada Hills with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 victory at No. 1 doubles.
