Heading into today's City Section Championship at Balboa Golf Course in Encino, the Granada Hills girls' golf team is, again, a clear-cut favorite to take its sixth consecutive team title.

``We're fortunate to have some good players,'' coach Steve Thompson Steve Thompson or Steven Thompson may be:

Chatsworth, Marshall, Van Nuys and Venice will challenge Granada Hills for the team title, but it looks like a steep hill Steep Hill is a popular tourist street in the historic city of Lincoln, UK.

to climb with seniors Jennifer Cho and Cristina Kubota standing in the way.

``I think we will win if we stay consistent,'' Cho said of her team's possible sixth consecutive title. ``Noreen (Ong) has gotten so much better. We can match up to them.''

``I think it's between Marshall, Venice and Granada,'' Valley II league manager and North Hollywood coach Steve Miller The name Steve Miller might refer to:

Regarding the individual outcome, Miller thinks the competition will be fierce.

``It's wide open,'' Miller said

Along with Cho and her No. 2 teammate Kubota, Michelle Park (LACES), T.J. Kliebphipat (Van Nuys), Angela Vilella (San Fernando San Fernando, city, Argentina

The top two teams will advance, and the 10 best scores of individuals not on the top twoteams will advance.

But there's one individual that Cho will be particularly mindful of -- freshman phenom phe·nom

Kliebphipat, who tied Cho at one-over-par (38) to share co-medalist earlier this year at Balboa.

``She's pretty good,'' Cho said of Kliebphipat.

But Cho likes her chances at Balboa to hold the youngster off.

``I've played there since the 10th grade,'' Cho said. It's a wide open fairway with wide open greens. It's not too long ... it's just the right distance.''
