The Oaks Christian of Westlake Village athlete has scored a school-record 27 touchdowns this season while touching the ball fewer than 100 times.

He has scored six different ways: 12 receiving, 11 rushing and one each on a kickoff return, punt return In American and Canadian football a punt return is one of the punt receiving team's options to respond to a punt. A player (usually a second or third string wide receiver or running back) positioned many yards from the line of scrimmage will attempt to catch or pick up the ball , interception return and a fumble recovery. He has 50 carries and 36 receptions in 13 games. Oaks Christian plays Oak Park for the Southern Section Div. XI title Saturday.

``I don't get the ball that much, but when I do get it, I try to make something happen,'' Tyler said.

A 5'10", 205 lbs. , Marc also leads the team with 1,619 total yards (817 receiving, 802 rushing).

--Ball hawk: Martin Ciccolini wasn't even supposed to be a starter. Now he has broken the Crespi of Encino record with 11 interceptions, which also leads the area.

When Josh Morgan couldn't play because of injury, Ciccolini was put in at safety. But it was really only a trial period because he was a senior.

After not intercepting a pass after five games, he has 11 over the past eight, including five during the playoffs. Crespi is in the Southern Section Div. X final Friday against North Torrance.

--QB change: Oak Park hopes for a different result in the final against Oaks Christian than in the regular season, when Oaks Christian won 52-20. There will be at least one difference for Oak Park - at quarterback.

Down 10-0 to Nordhoff at halftime in Week 8, Oak Park tried backup Doug Deakin to start the second half. He led the team to a 13-10 come-from- behind victory and has started ever since.

The former starter, Sean Sammis, had thrown for 1,181 yards and 17 touchdowns.
