Byline: GERRY GITTELSON Staff Writer

One day after winning CIF (1) (Common Intermediate Format) A standard video format used in videoconferencing. CIF formats are defined by their resolution, and standards both above and below the original resolution have been established. The original CIF is also known as Full CIF (FCIF).  State Football Bowl championships in Div. I and Div. III, Canyon and Oaks Christian of Westlake Village rested contently Sunday after 15 grueling weeks, climaxing Saturday with their state title victories in Carson.

Canyon has won two section titles in a row, and Oaks Christian has won four in a row.

So what about next year?

Both will be significantly hurt by graduation because nearly all of their key starters are seniors. But there's still plenty of talent returning, and probably a good chance both can repeat, or at least make a good run at it.

Canyon returns key receivers Mark Urbina and Stephen Wirthlin, standout offensive lineman A.J. Wallerstein and top defensive lineman Mike Spagnola.

Starting offensive lineman Justin Wallace, punter Garret Hernandez and promising linebacker Jonathan Hammock hammock, suspended bed, usually of netting, canvas, or leather. The hammock and its name were introduced to Europeans by Christopher Columbus, who learned of them from Native Americans.  (who missed all of this season with a shoulder injury) also will return.

Sean Galvin is slated to take over at quarterback. He completed just two passes, but scored five touchdowns as a backup this season.

Oaks Christian will turn the quarterback job over to Chris Potter Chris Potter may refer to:

Freshman running back/linebacker Malcolm Smith, one of the West Coast's top young prospects, figures to play a major role, along with starting receiver/defensive back Christopher Owasu and promising running back Ryan Landseadel.
