HIGH SCHOOL FIREWORKS SHOW COULD MOVE.

The school is a part of the Glendale Unified School District.  are considering alternative locations in case the incoming synthetic grass field at the school creates problems for the annual pyrotechnic display.

The Crescenta Valley The Crescenta Valley is a small inland valley in Los Angeles County, California. Its name derives from its crescent-like shape, with the convex portion facing roughly northeast and the concave portion southwest.  Chamber of Commerce still hopes to keep the show at the school. The chamber has done the show for more than 15 years, and it usually draws about 5,000 people.

``There is no plan to cancel it at this point,'' said Jean Maluccio, executive director of the chamber. ``I see all of us trying to work well together on this, and I can't see it in any kind of jeopardy jeopardy, in law, condition of a person charged with a crime and thus in danger of punishment. At common law a defendant could be exposed to jeopardy for the same offense only once; exposing a person twice is known as

double jeopardy.

By July 4, Crescenta Valley High School will have a synthetic grass field installed. For past shows, organizers put carnival rides and food stands on the school's grass field.

But out of fears the synthetic grass could be damaged if the heavy carnival rides and food stands are placed on it, organizers might need to put them in another part of the school.

They have also looked at other locations, but hope to have the event at the school because it provides plenty of space for the pyrotechnicians, Maluccio said. The show lasts about 20 minutes.

``Right now we're really in the exploration phase and we don't have any answers, but we're pursuing multiple options so that the fireworks can continue,'' said Linda Evans
