HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL NOTEBOOK: KUHN KEY TO HOW FAR CANYON COWBOYS GO.

Byline: SEAN n. 1. A seine. See Seine.  CEGLINSKY Staff Writer

The Canyon High Cowboys cowboys, in American history.

1 Tory marauders, adherents to the British cause in the American Revolution, who fought in the contested area of Westchester co., N.Y.
showed signs of improvement this summer, but ultimately they will go only as far as Ryan Kuhn takes them once the regular basketball season rolls around in November.

The 6-foot-1 senior-to-be is one of the few players with varsity experience from last season's team that edged out Valencia and Burroughs of Burbank for the Foothill League title. If Canyon hopes to duplicate the feat, Kuhn will be key.

``This is Ryan's team,'' Cowboys coach Chad Chad (chăd, chäd), Fr. Tchad, officially Republic of Chad, republic (2005 est. pop. 9,826,000), 495,752 sq mi (1,284,000 sq km), N central Africa.  Phillips said.

Kris Rincon, Chase Wilmore, Casey Floyd, Bryan Lewis Bryan Lewis (b. Alliston, Ontario) is a Canadian municipal politician and a former referee and Director of Officiating for the National Hockey League. His first NHL experience was in the 1966-67 NHL season.  and Lucas Guidroz accounted for most of the offense a season ago. The four graduated in June, leaving the Cowboys with plenty of holes to fill over the past two months during offseason play.

Jerrid McKenna, Mark Lewis and Cody Anderson appear to be capable replacements, but Kuhn emerged as the leader, without peer or question.

``He was lighting up the scoreboard this summer,'' Phillips said. ``He was good last year, but his improvement has been tremendous.''

It shouldn't come as a major surprise since Kuhn was third on the team in scoring as a junior, averaging 9.3 points per game. He proved to be explosive at times, too, finishing with 15 or more points in eight different games, including three with 20 or more points.

``We`re going to be counting on him this year,'' Phillips said. ``When he played well this summer, we did too. He's our go-to guy.''

Double duty: Mike Montgomery To see the defensive end on the Green Bay Packers see Michael Montgomery

Mike Montgomery (born February 27 1947 in Long Beach, California, United States) is the former head coach of the Golden State Warriors in the NBA.
has had a busy summer thus far, playing for both the Hart basketball and baseball teams over the past two months in various tournaments and showcases.

The junior-to-be has excelled in both sports.

``We've missed Mike on Tuesdays and on the weekends sometimes, but when we've had him with us, he's been exceptional,'' Indians basketball coach Tom Kelly People named Tom Kelly include:
  • Tom Kelly (baseball) (born 1950), former manager of the American baseball team the Minnesota Twins.
  • Tom Kelly (basketball) (born 1924), played in 27 games for the Boston Celtics in the 1948-49 NBA season.
said. ``He has really picked up his level of play.''

``He has been scoring for us and guarding the other team's best perimeter player. He plays bigger than he is, and that poses match-up problems.''

Montgomery began his sophomore season on the junior varsity team For the American rock band, see .

In sports, usually at the high school and college levels, members of a team who are not the main players in a competition (such as a football or basketball game) are called junior varsity players.
and moved up to varsity at the midway point, only to struggle. Now he is 6-4 and 170 pounds, with added experience, and things figure to be different.

``He's going to be more than ready this season,'' Kelly said.
