HIGH DESERT OUTSLUGS JETHAWKS.Byline: Lee Barnathan Daily News Staff Writer Chris Kirgan and Jesus Garcia hit three-run home runs, and High Desert rode an eight-run second inning to defeat Lancaster 15-11 Tuesday night and drop the JetHawks into a tie for last place in the California League's Southern Division. Lancaster (14-13 in the second half) starter Trey Moore (3-3) lasted just 1-2/3 innings, the shortest appearance by a JetHawks starting pitcher this season. He gave up 11 runs (all earned) and 10 hits, including Kirgan's home run and Bartt Carney's RBI triple, with a walk and four strikeouts. Seven players for High Desert (14-13) drove in at least one run. John Daniels relieved and promptly gave up Garcia's home run before striking out seven of the next eight batters he faced. |
