HGTV's 'Third Annual Dream Home Giveaway' Winner Hails from Kingston, Tennessee.

Belinda Brown Selected from over 4.3 Million Viewer Entries to Win the

Network's Largest Promotion Ever

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- The Grand Prize winner of Home & Garden Television's (HGTV) "Third Annual Dream Home Giveaway" is Belinda Brown of Kingston, Tenn., a Comcast Cable subscriber.

Ms. Brown's entry was selected from more than 4.3 million entries HGTV received from all 50 states during the promotion. Response to this year's HGTV "Dream Home Giveaway" nearly doubled last year's 2.5 million entries, making it the most successful promotion in the history of cable television.

Ms. Brown will receive a prize package with a total retail value of more than $650,000, including a two-story beach home built on a prime piece of coastal real estate on Rosemary Beach in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.; a new 1999 Cadillac Escalade; and an assortment of exceptional home furnishings and prizes from a variety of promotional sponsors such as Sears, Roebuck and Co., GE, AT&T, Century 21, Hunter Douglas, LANE Furniture, Florida's Natural Brand Orange Juice, Sherwin-Williams, WILSONART, Honeywell and MINWAX.

In addition to the Grand Prize package awarded to Belinda Brown, five regional 1st Place winners will receive a $5,000 Sears Shopping Spree. The regional winners are Mary Richardson of Tucson, Ariz.; Ann Keim of Levittown, Pa.; Mary Glen Toylar of Vestavia Hills, Ala.; Mary Detterline of Hopewell Junction, N.Y.; and Lori Brenner of Delphos, Ohio.

HGTV's "Third Annual Dream Home Giveaway" ran from February 1 through March 13, 1999. Grand Prize Winner Belinda Brown entered via the HGTV Village Web site (http://www.hgtv.com). In addition to cross-channel spots on participating cable systems, Sears point-of-purchase displays and mailings, articles in Coastal Living and HGTV Ideas magazine and features on the HGTV Village Web site, the network also promoted the sweepstakes with a one-hour special, "HGTV's Coastal Dream Home 1999," that took viewers on a tour of the house and its surrounding community.
