HFTP 2006 Annual Convention & Tradeshow general session speakers announced.

 is planning another informative and fun Annual Convention & Tradeshow for October 18-21 at the The Westin Bayshore Vancouver in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. Already scheduled are three highly-acclaimed speakers who will inspire and motivate attendees each morning of the conference.

Starting the education program on Thursday morning will be Vince Poscente, CSP (1) (Certified Systems Professional) An earlier award for successful completion of an ICCP examination in systems development. See ICCP.

In his presentation, "Be Invinceable: Transform Workplace Performance," Poscente will use concepts from his book The Ant & the Elephant, share details about his Olympic experience and give an overview of the 5C Process to Peak Performance model that took him from a recreational skier to vying for gold in speed skiing Speed skiing is the sport of skiing downhill in a straight line as fast as possible. It is one of the fastest non-motorized sports on earth (The fastest non-motorized sport is speed skydiving, in which divers reach speeds of over 480 km/h.). The current world record is 252.  in four short years. By the end of this presentation, attendees will be aligned behind one common idea--do what the competition is not willing to do!

Call for 2006 HFTP Paragon Award Nominations

Honor an individual who has made a significant impact in the hospitality industry

In 1999, HFTP established the prestigious Paragon Award to recognize individuals who have made a significant and lasting contribution to both HFTP and the hospitality industry.

Paragon Award nominees can be HFTP members, representatives of industry-related associations, societies or trade publications; or leaders from hospitality businesses, educational institutions and other related fields. A panel of industry experts selects the award winner(s) who will be recognized at the 2006 HFTP Annual Convention & Tradeshow.

To be eligible for selection, an individual must first be nominated by someone who has worked with or is familiar with the nominated individual's work in HFTP and the nomination must then be seconded and accompanied by three supporting letters of recommendation.
