HEWLETT PACKARD FORMS ALLIANCE WITH STREAMSERVE.


Hewlett Packard Company (HP) has formed a strategic alliance with StreamServe Inc., an e-business communication software company. Together, the companies plan to co-develop, along with leading ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) An integrated information system that serves all departments within an enterprise. Evolving out of the manufacturing industry, ERP implies the use of packaged software rather than proprietary software written by or for one customer.  vendor SAP AG (company) SAP AG - (Systeme, Anwendungen, Produkte in der Datenverarbeitung - German for "Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing") A company from Germany that sells the leading suite of client-server business software. The US branch is called SAP America. , an advanced output management system that will be marketed both to SAP's installed base and its future customers.

The main pillar of the new relationship will be integration of StreamServe technology into HP's output management product, which is aimed at helping organizations improve their information delivery capabilities and extend their business applications to the Internet.

The HP and StreamServe alliance encompasses four strategic business and technological initiatives:

* HP and StreamServe OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  Agreement - The most significant aspect of the alliance is that HP will embed StreamServe technology in a new HP output management solution, initially targeted for SAP customers (both R/3 and mySAP.com). * Product Development Agreement - HP and StreamServe will initially focus efforts on SAP integration and enhanced functionality. Both companies have dedicated substantial development personnel to the next generation of software for information delivery and B2B (Business to Business) Refers to one business communicating with or selling to another. * Global Reseller Agreement - HP will also actively sell StreamServe's entire software product line for e-business communication. In support of this effort, the two companies will focus on marketing, training, and joint sales activities on a global basis.

* Reference Sales Arrangement - StreamServe sales representatives and consultants will actively promote the HP output management solution as well as the output management software of Dazel, an HP software company.
