Valencia's Bryan Herta Bryan Herta (b. May 23 1970, Warren, Michigan) is an American race car driver. He currently drives for Andretti Green Racing, which is co-owned by former CART and IRL driver Michael Andretti, in the ALMS, although his career has primarily been spent in open-wheel cars  has been replaced as driver on Team Nasamax for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

South African Werner Lupberger was named to replace Herta in the June sports car endurance race in Le Mans, France, the team announced Monday.

Team Nasamax is entering the only car, an LMP-900 Reynard Cosworth, that is fueled with agriculturally produced bio-ethanol in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

``I've enjoyed my time with Team Nasamax,'' said Herta, who drove for the team in the 12 Hours of Sebring in Florida, the season opener of the American Le Mans Series The American Le Mans Series (ALMS) is a sports car racing series based in the United States and Canada. It consists of a series of endurance and sprint races, and was created in the spirit of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. . ``It's been good to be involved at the beginning and see the progress we made on the Cosworth engine running with bio-ethanol.''

``I appreciate the Team Nasamax directors understanding that the opportunity to drive with Team Green in the next few races was too good to pass up, and I'll be watching Le Mans with interest from the race at Pikes Peak Pikes Peak, 14,110 ft (4,301 m) high, central Colo., in the Front Range of the Rocky Mts.; discovered by U.S. explorer Zebulon Pike in 1806. Hornaday, driver of the No. 2 Chevy for Richard Childress Racing RCR Enterprises, LLC, doing business as Richard Childress Racing, is a NASCAR team fielding Chevrolets for Kevin Harvick, Clint Bowyer, Jeff Burton, and Scott Wimmer in the NEXTEL Cup Series as well as the #2 BB&T Chevy for Clint Bowyer, the #21 AutoZone Chevy for Harvick , had a strong car, qualified and ran in the top five, but a broken transmission knocked him out of contention. He finished a disappointing 28th and dropped to sixth in the Busch Series standings.

``We have had good qualifying runs lately and the car has run up front,'' Hornaday said before the Gateway race. ``We just need to try and stay out of trouble at the end. We got caught up in late crashes at Bristol (Tenn.), Texas and now Richmond (Va). You can't win championships with wrecked cars. I really think that this is a championship team. That's what Richard hired me to do and that's where my focus is.''

--Irwindale Speedway: Dave Blakenship of Stevenson Ranch won his first race of the season and took over the points lead in the Ultra Wheel Super Truck series at Irwindale Speedway.

Blakenship holds a narrow two-point edge over Carson Woods of Yucca Valley after two races.

In other races last Saturday night, Ben Walker of Santa Clarita moved into second place in the NASCAR Super Late Models standings with a pair of strong finishes in the Twin 50s. Walker finished fourth and sixth in the 50-lappers and trails class leader and defending champion Rip Michels of North Hills by 12 points.

Chris Houwen of Canyon Country maintained his third-place hold in the NASCAR Super Stocks with a fifth-place finish in the 40-lap main event. Lee Ladd of Westlake Village won his fourth race in a row and has yet to lose a race this season. Fellow Super Stocks driver Julianne Seeley of Canyon Country moved into the top 10 in points for the first time this season with an eighth-place finish.

Racing continues tonight at Irwindale Speedway with the NASCAR Late Model Twin 40s, NASCAR Grand American Modifieds, Legend Cars and Modified 4s.

--Willow Springs International Raceway: The fifth round of the Toyota Cup Formula One Motorcycle Series will take place at Willow Springs International Raceway in Rosamond this weekend.

Practice and preliminaries start at 8 a.m. today. The Toyota Cup Formula One race starts at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets are $10 a person and include pit pass, parking and camping. Children under 10 are free.

Last race: Scott Riggs raced to his third victory of the season, taking the Charter Pipeline 250 in Madison, Ill., when Mike Bliss ran out of fuel on the final lap. David Green finished second, 0.543 seconds behind Riggs, to take a five-point lead over Todd Bodine in the season standings.

Last year: Jason Keller recorded his third win in five races by taking the Stacker2 200 at Nazareth Speedway. The final 30 laps were run under caution after a two-car accident involving Jeff Purvis and defending race winner Greg Biffle.

Fast facts: Tim Fedewa won the race in 1995 and 1998, becoming the only driver to win more than once. ... Matt Kenseth outlasted a five-hour rain delay to win the 1999 race. ...
