"It's unfortunate that British Airways is rewarding Flying Food Group and their race-to-the-bottom management style," said Jason Ortiz, a research analyst with the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees International Union (HEREIU HEREIU Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees International Union ). "Ultimately Flying Food Group's low-road approach to employee relations and food safety will be a detriment to their plans for further growth. We often find that companies that mistreat their workers also mistreat their customers."

"I'm frankly surprised and disappointed that British Airways would choose to do business with a company like Flying Food," said Anita Ratnam, a British Airways frequent flier, who flies out of Newark Airport. "I sure hope the stuff I've heard about their food safety record doesn't result in a turbulent tummy the next time I fly from Newark."
