HERE COMES SUMMER; SUN'S FINALLY OUT, SCHOOL TO FOLLOW.

Byline: Melissa Schmitt Daily News Staff Writer

They're tired of school, and they're, like, way over bad weather.

Homework is history and there will be no more alarm clocks. Summer break starts this week, and for San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

area teen-agers, that's not a second too soon. Summer's officially starting Sunday and the temperature's beginning to heat up - finally.

But with the newly arrived sunshine that burned the Valley on Wednesday, Saunders and her high school cohorts aren't waiting to celebrate.

``The weather has sucked,'' Saunders declared while waiting for the bus in front of Canoga Park High School Canoga Park High School is a public school located in Canoga Park in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, California, USA, within the Los Angeles Unified School District.

If the National Weather Service knows what it's talking about, Saunders will have plenty to smile about in the days to come.

``If you liked today, you'll like the next several days,'' said meteorologist Rob Krohn.

``Valley temperatures will be in the 80s to 90 on Friday,'' he said. ``It'll be a great beach weekend.''

There will be some morning fog and low clouds, Krohn said, but otherwise it will be clear. ``It hasn't been warm all calendar year. This is going to be one of our first really nice breaks of warm weather.''

There will be no more waiting for 18-year-old Adrianna Coman, who will graduate today with her class at Taft High School.

Just minutes after being released from Taft at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Coman and several of her classmates gathered in their normal spot in the Ralphs parking lot off Winnetka Avenue trying to decide what to do next.

After tossing out a number of ideas of what she might do to pass the time this summer, Coman decided much of her summer would be spent working a part-time job, going to the beach and just hanging out. And in honor of a friend who was recently stabbed to death, Coman said she was planning to try to stay out of harm's way beyond the danger limit; in a safe place.

``We're going to try to stay out of trouble,'' she said.

Whatever Isabel Abolian, 18, will be doing, so will Seama Eftekhari, 17, and Marjan Afshar, 18, all graduating today from Taft.

``Us three are one,'' Eftekhari said, standing between her two friends.

``I'm going to chill, go swimming. Have a barbecue,'' said Abolian, a resident of Woodland Hills. ``It's kind of depressing to leave high school, but it's good to move on.''

Cohen wasn't wasting any of the sunshine that has made itself so scarce this spring, heading for the pod of surfers at Topanga instantly.

Back at Canoga High, Suhai Franco, 18, sat quietly on the school lawn waiting for her ride home.

Her plan is to do some traveling - most likely Las Vegas for a couple of weeks, and then back home to start her new life.

Kimberly Omlie, 16, standing next to Saunders at the bus stop, said she's planning a couple weeks in New York, basketball practices, days at the beach and some fun with her friends.

``There's no curfew,'' Saunders said laughing ebulliently. ``My mom won't care if I go out late 'cause there's no school. She can't use that excuse anymore.''
