Kaiser has had to cancel some elective surgeries until the blood store is replenished, said Debby Driscoll, a nurse at the Santa Clarita facility.

``The Red Cross has told us we can't have any more blood unless it's an emergency,'' Driscoll said. ``Some family members of patients came in to give blood so their relatives could have surgery.''
