HENKEL ANNOUNCES PERFORMANCE BLEND PROGRAM FOR PERSONAL CARE INDUSTRY
AMBLER, Pa., Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Henkel Corp.'s COSPHA/CD Division today announced the Performance Blend program, which assists manufacturers of personal care products in reducing their operating costs, and enhancing the quality of their products through the use of high-purity, high-consistency COSPHA/CD pre-blended surfactants.
COSPHA/CD Performance Blends are typically mixtures of three or more ingredients, made for individual customers and guaranteed to meet strict performance and analytical criteria. Performance Blends, marketed under the Standapol(R) name, are used in shampoos, liquid soaps, bath gels and other personal care items.
"Our mandate is to help our customers succeed, and our Performance Blend program will help us do that," said Anthony DeRosa, vice president and general manager of the COSPHA/CD Division. "Performance Blends help the customer get more production from existing capacity, achieve more flexible production and lower costs, and improve product quality. In addition to all that, there's the ease of using our Performance Blends."
As part of the Performance Blend program, the Henkel division is helping customers with sufficient volume investigate and understand the benefits of computer controlled continuous mixing equipment. Continuous manufacture in the Personal Care industry becomes much more attractive when starting with a Henkel Performance Blend. COSPHA/CD has a new continuous mixing pilot plant in Hoboken, N.J. This pilot plant supported by the COSPHA/CD Applications Laboratory and Engineering staff, is an excellent resource for customers interested in this technology, the company said.
"Early reaction from customers is very favorable, because they see the direct benefits of using our Performance Blends in the continuous production equipment," said DeRosa. "Our blends and the new equipment increase production of current customer facilities, improve production flexibility, lower labor and other costs, make it easier to switch from one product to another, and get away from batch processing."
