Heminiak takes over immediately the position that has been vacant since Tom Craft resigned in March.

Heminiak, 50, has spent 21 of his 28 years in minor league baseball as a general manager. He was named Executive of the Year in the Triple-A Pacific Coast League For the high school sports league, see .
