Welcome to your latest print edition of valleynews.com.

I want to start off by thanking every citizen journalist that has made the effort to tell a tale, whether it be your own or someone else's.

It is people like you that are the backbone of this citizen journalism operation.

As the community journalist for the North Valley, I always feel happy to find a new story, photo or event and am proud to present them in the print edition every week.

At the moment though, I am dealing with a certain dilemma.

I've received good feedback from a contributor that our content is too narrowly focused in the Northeast edition.

I couldn't agree more!

I would love to present a wide range of stories, but I work with what you -- the citizen journalists -- give me.

So, this is an invitation to everyone out there who thinks local news coverage is too narrow.

If you are upset with local media because a story you felt worthy of coverage went ignored ... I challenge you do something about it and write the story yourself.

We all know people who sit there and complain about what the paper covers. Now, they can do something about it. Tell them to post to valley

news.com.

When people realize the potential of this project and really take advantage of it, we will have stories and photos to put in the paper that are as diverse as the people we cover.
