HEAR TODAY SLAYER ... UNSHROUDED.

Byline: Fred Shuster Music Writer

They're big, hairy and scary -- Slayer has reunited to lift the hearts of three generations of inhalant inhalant /in·hal·ant/ (in-hal´ant)
1. something meant to be inhaled; see inhalation (def. 3).

2. a class of psychoactive substances whose volatile vapors are subject to abuse.

Welcome back, boys. We missed ya.

Here's a peek under singer-bassist Tom Araya and guitarist Kerry King's shrouds.

Q: ``Black Serenade'' is a fun little number.

ARAYA: It's about a guy who was angry and gets his frustrations out by yelling at his girl and then realizes that he has killed her. He thinks she's listening to him, but she's dead.

Q: Um, are you guys scary in real life, too?

KING: You can't for a second think that Slayer doesn't live as we are. Yes, we go home to our families, but when you see me backstage at a show, that's how you see me at the grocery store. I'm the same dude. I don't have to put on a charade for anyone to think I'm Kerry King of Slayer -- that's who I am everyday.
