Sting's new album, ``Sacred Love,'' was recorded during the period leading up to the war in Iraq. As a result, the follow-up to 1999's ``Brand New Day'' reflects the confusion and uncertainty felt at the time.

The disc features appearances by Queen of Hip-Hop/Soul Mary J. Blige on the gospel-tinged ``Whenever I Say Your Name,'' and sitar sitar (sĭtär`), fretted string instrument with a gourdlike body and a long neck, similar to the lute. It has from 3 to 7 gut strings, tuned in fourths or fifths (or both), and a lower course of 12 wire strings that vibrate sympathetically with  player Anoushka Shankar Anoushka Shankar (b. June 9, 1981) is a sitar player and composer in the United Kingdom. She is the daughter of Ravi Shankar, Indian sitar player, and Sukanya Rajan. Through her father, she is the half-sister of Grammy Award winner Norah Jones.
