). The collaboration will expand Healtheon's services to patients and their doctors with easy-to-understand information on prescription, non-prescription and herbal medications.

On its consumer portal, Healtheon visitors can access the USP DI(R) Volume II Advice for the Patient(R), an easy-to-understand, accessible prescription-medications reference that is produced by Micromedex, a Thomson Healthcare Information Company, in conjunction with the non-profit U.S. Pharmacopeia. The guide includes detailed, reliable information on 300 herbal remedies from the most authoritative sources, including Germany's Commission E, the leading regulatory body on herbal medications. Consumers accessing this illustrated reference will find complete information including each herb's scientifically verified applications, other common uses, special cautions and typical doses.

The alliance with Thomson enhances Healtheon's e-commerce and transaction services for physicians and healthcare professionals with critical drug data including FDA-approved information on 4,000 prescription drugs, 9,000 full-text articles, free searching of 11 million abstracts and daily medical news.
