HEALTH-CHEM SUBSIDIARY COMPLETES FILING OF ANDA

 NEW YORK, April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Health-Chem Corporation (AMEX: HCH) announced today that it's subsidiary, Hercon Laboratories Corporation (Hercon), has completed the filing of an Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for approval to market an improved transdermal nitroglycerin patch. The new patch is transparent, thinner, smaller and more flexible than Hercon's existing transdermal nitroglycerin product. Marketing of the new product in the United States is contingent upon receipt of FDA approval. Worldwide distribution arrangements are currently being explored.
 Health-Chem Corporation manufacturers and distributes patented controlled release dispensers for the pharmaceutical and agricultural industries, along with industrial and health care synthetic fabrics.
