HEALTH-AWARE PHOENIX AREA IS FIRST MARKET FOR NEW SONIC DENTAL DEVICE; FlossPlus Becomes Latest Walgreens Dental Product.

JOLIET, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 14, 1995--NeoSonics Corp. of Joliet, Ill., today announced an agreement with Walgreens to market the company's FlossPlus SONIC flosser. Walgreens, headquartered in Deerfield, Ill., is the first major retailer to offer the product in major markets. Four cities, including Phoenix, Chicago, Milwaukee and Madison, will begin selling the product immediately.

First introduced in late 1994, FlossPlus has seen sales soar on a direct basis, through national catalogs, dentist offices, and retail specialty stores. ``Everything we have done has been getting us ready for this moment,'' says Carl Melville, NeoSonics president. ``FlossPlus is a wonderful consumer item that almost everyone can use. Getting the product into the right retailer and into the best initial markets takes time. The Phoenix area is an excellent market for many reasons, including the high percentage of health-aware citizens and their progres sive attitude towards innovative products.''

``Walgreens has earned a reputation of retail innovation in dental electric appliances,'' says Charles Walgreen, dental products buyer. ``FlossPlus continues that innovation. It represents an entirely new product that we feel our customers are looking for. It fills a need that, until now, has gone unmet.''

The FlossPlus SONIC flosser is the first ADA Accepted and clinically proven device of its kind. BY combining SONIC vibrations with dental floss, FlossPlus creates a new flossing experience that many people find easy, enjoyable and even fun. The product is designed for people who can't, won't or don't floss regularly. FlossPlus is hand-held, battery operated, and is designed to make flossing as easy as brushing. It was designed in conjunction with a team of periodontists, is American-made and backed with a satisfaction guarantee. The product MSRP is $29.95.

NeoSonics will use television and radio commercials to build awareness for the product and to promote the benefits of good dental health. Walgreens will merchandise the FlossPlus within the dental section. High visibility clamshell packaging and retail displays will complete the in-store merchandising.
