HEALTH: CELEBRITY SICK NOTE EAR INFECTION ANDREA CORR.Byline: Words: Lynne Michelle, Martha Roberts and Sue RussellCorrs singer Andrea, 28, found that a tour took its toll on her health when she ended up with an ear and throat infection earlier this year. She fell ill in Glasgow at the start of the band's UK tour and says, `I was frightened. I couldn't hear. My ears went completely and the pain was excruciating. It was an abscess abscess, localized inflamation associated with tissue necrosis. Abscesses are characterized by inflamation, which is due to the accumulation of pus in the local tissues, and often painful swelling. on my eardrum ear·drum n. The thin, semitransparent, oval-shaped membrane that separates the middle ear from the external ear. Also called drum, drumhead, drum membrane, myringa, myrinx, tympanic membrane, in my right ear, then my left had an inner-ear infection.' She says her immune system was down - and relentless flying during the tour didn't help. She was advised not to fly for a month and doctors told her she had to rest. She was also put on antibiotics to deal with the infection. |
