HEADS UP FUND-RAISER TO HIT MALLS.

SANTA CLARITA - Volunteers will collect money this weekend at Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. The valley was part of the 48,612-acre (19,672.  shopping centers to benefit the Heads Up program in Saugus, a therapy program for disabled children.

The annual fund-raiser is sponsored by the Columbian Foundation for People with Mental Retardation mental retardation, below average level of intellectual functioning, usually defined by an IQ of below 70 to 75, combined with limitations in the skills necessary for daily living. , Inc. Each year, Knights of Columbus Knights of Columbus, American Roman Catholic society for men, founded (1882) at New Haven, Conn. (where its headquarters are still located), by Father Michael J. Donations will be collected from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Sunday at major shopping centers.

Heads Up provides therapy to physically, mentally or emotionally impaired children. It serves 5,000 local children.

The goal this year is to collect $10,000. All of the money stays in the area and there are no overhead costs. Donations are tax-deductible.
