Intransa, the global leader in network-centric, enterprise IP-storage systems, has announced that it has entered into a strategic software license/ OEM partnership with HCL Infosystems, India's premier information enabling company. With Intransa's StorControl software running on HCL Global Line servers the agreement enables HCL Infosystems to deliver true, top-of-the-line IP SAN systems "powered by Intransa."

Designed as an alternative for IT planners and administrators to build, manage and scale storage infrastructures, the HCL IP SAN system, powered by Intransa, is targeted at small, medium and large enterprise environments. The IP SAN system will utilize the customer's existing Ethernet and IP infrastructure and the TCP/IP skill sets of its IT technicians, enabling enterprise storage planners to consolidate distributed storage resources, control rising storage costs and implement LAN-free backups and restoration, in addition to comprehensive disaster recovery practices.

Intransa StorControl software is a Java-based management application that provides a simple, intuitive GUI management interface to reduce the complexity of storage management. In addition Intransa's StorControl software includes a volume manager for managing and configuring iSCSI targets as well as the ability to integrate third party snapshot services such as Microsoft's Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) and Oracle's RMAN. Intransa StorControl software supports Microsoft Windows 2000/ XP/Server 2003 client workstations, Sun Solaris, Linux and HP UX platforms.
