HAVERHILL MAN ARRESTED ON BRIBERY CHARGES

 BOSTON, April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- A Haverhill man was arrested today on a charge of bribing an Internal Revenue Service Revenue Officer.
 U.S. Attorney A. John Pappalardo announced today that agents of the Internal Security Division of the Internal Revenue Service arrested Ronald G. Lambert,51, of 480 Hilldale St., Haverhill, Mass. Lambert currently owns and operates Merrimack Valley Roofing Companies, Inc. in Haverhill. According to an indictment returned by a federal grand jury yesterday and unsealed today after Lambert's arrest, Lambert promised to pay $21,000, and in fact paid $14,300 in cash to an Internal Revenue Service Revenue Officer with the intent to corruptly influence the Revenue Officer's handling of a delinquent tax case. If convicted, LAMBERT faces a maximum of 15 years in federal prison and a fine of $250,000.
 This case was investigated by agents of the Internal Security Division of the Internal Revenue Service and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Brien T. O'Connor of the Public Corruption Unit in Pappalardo's office.
