 ``Under the Tuscan Sun,'' filmmaker Audrey Wells didn't have much choice. For one thing, the book doesn't have a plot, so Wells (``The Truth About Cats and Dogs'') had to invent one. Fortunately for her, she was already working on something that fit.

``I was writing a story about a woman overcoming a big heartbreak, and I realized I could combine that theme and that kind of emotional journey with the setting and the cultural milieu mi·lieu
