HARVEY APPOINTED TO HORIZON'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS CALHOUN, Ga., March 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Horizon Industries, Inc.
(NASDAQ: HRZN) today announced the recent appointment of Irwin M. Harvey, a prominent carpet industry executive, to fill a vacant position on the company's board of directors.
Harvey was one of the founders of Galaxy Carpet Mills and served for 21 years as that company's chairman and chief executive officer until its sale to Peerless Mills in 1989. He is a past chairman of the Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) and has been a member of its board of directors since 1972. Commenting on the appointment, Peter R. Spirer, Horizon's chairman, stated, "The addition of Irv Harvey to our board of directors brings to our counsel a seasoned and astute veteran of the carpet industry. Over the years, it has been my privilege and pleasure to have worked with Irv on numerous industry related programs. We are delighted to welcome his participation as a member of our board."
